Bea Drennan, of Mt. Vernon, died 3:55 a.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at her home in Mt. Vernon.
She was born in Jefferson County, the daughter of George Kirby and Nomah Kloe (Cockrum) Dawson. She married Glen M. Drennen on March 23, 1941, in Jackson, Mo.; he preceded her in death on Sept. 21, 2001.
She is survived by sister, Maxine Tucker of Mt. Vernon; two nephews, Ron Dawson of Red Oak, Texas, and Dennis Hale and wife Deana of Mt. Vernon; four nieces, Sandra Wellmaker and husband Robert of Bluford, Jan Kennedy of Woodlawn, Margie Graham and husband Robert of Mt. Vernon and Carla Ellis and husband Tim of Mt. Vernon; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one sister, Kloe Tucker; and one brother, Alonzo Junior Dawson.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 3, at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with the Rev. David Shores officiating. Interment was at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn.
Visitation was held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 2, at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.
