Charles D. Lemmons, Sr., 71, of Dale, died 4:25 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, 2014, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro. Charles was born Jan. 27, 1943, in Kennett, Mo., the son of Alfred and Roselee (Romhilt) Lemmons. He was a retired machinist with the Emerson Electric of Aurora. He married Mandy C. Ellison and she survives. Charles is survived by his wife, Mandy C. Lemmons; sons, Charles Lemmons and wife Robin of McLeansboro, David Lemmons and wife Candace of Aurora and Thomas Lemmons and wife Jenny of Aurora; daughters, Billie Doogan of McLeansboro, Darlene Trainer and husband Owen of Sturgis, Ky., and Marlene Abbot of Creal Springs; siblings, Tom Lemmons of McLeansboro, Christine Weaver of Dahlgren, Dora Presley of Rudement and Bonnie Bramlet of Lake Charles, La.,; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren with one on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral service were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. Robert Sefried officiating. Interment was at Digby Hill Cemetery in Dale. Visitation was held from noon until the time of service Monday at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
