Edgar Satterfield, 85, of McLeansboro, passed away 6:30 a.m. Monday, April 3, 2017, at his residence.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, April 6, 2017, Harre Funeral Home. The Rev. Jim Peak and the Rev. Bill Reed will officiate. Burial will be at Oddfellows Cemetery in McLeansboro.
He was born Aug. 31, 1931, in Dale, the son of Elmer Satterfield and Priscilla (Irvin) Satterfield. He married Margaret Louise (Williams) on Feb. 1, 1952, in McLeansboro.
He was an educator and was employed by Hamilton County Schools many years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in McLeansboro and the McLeansboro Kiwanis Club and was a trustee of the First United Methodist Church.
He is survived by one son, Stephen Satterfield and wife Eileen of Benton; one daughter, Lea Ann Sager and husband James of Salem; one granddaughter, Morgan Hanke and husband Jonathan of Marion; five grandsons, Landon Satterfield and fiance Sally of Boaz, Ky., Mason Satterfield of Parma, Mich., James Sager and wife Amber of Salem, Donny Sager and wife Brooke of Clarksville, Tenn., and Kevin Sager and wife Rickell of Salem; great-grandchildren, Owen and Maren Hanke and Blaire, Edison and Dawson Sager; and one brother, Eugene Satterfield and wife Teresa of Nashville, Tenn.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Randal.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund and will be accepted at Harre Funeral Home.
