Florence Bond, 89, of Piopolis, passed away 12:15 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at McLeansboro Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, McLeansboro. She was born April 14, 1925, in Piopolis, the daughter of Carl Anton Aydt and Katherine (Kaufman) Aydt. She married Gilbert Brazil "Honk" Bond, Jr. on May 15, 1946, in Piopolis. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Piopolis. She was owner and operator of Bonds Store in Piopolis. She was a member of the St. Elizabeth Ladies Sodality, the Ladies Auxiliary of McLeansboro VFW and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She was an election judge for Crouch Township for many years. She is survived by three daughters, Jewell Wilson and husband Robert of Dahlgren, Sue Rosancki of Ashley and Nolene Rubenacker and husband Keith of Belle Prairie; two sons, Mike Bond and wife Vicki of Herrin and Robert Bond and wife Cathy of McLeansboro; grandchildren, Deanna Erwin and husband DeWayne of Wayne City, Karissa Renshaw of Dahlgren, Robert Wilson III and wife Shelly of McLeansboro, Shawn Bond and wife Tina of Herrin, Hillary Bayer and husband Bryan of Mt. Vernon, Terry Bond and wife Heather of McLeansboro, Ryan Rubenacker of Belle Prairie and Sara Rubenacker and fiance Michael Smith of Springfield; great-grandchildren, Beth Sutton and husband Jeff, Ethan Erwin, Levi Erwin, Slayder Renshaw, Brianna, Jenna, Laynna and Rylanne Wilson, Logan, Olivia and Mason Bond, Addisyn Bradley, Brennan Bayer, Alexandra Bond, Mikaela Goodwin and Dawson Rubenacker; and great-great-grandchildren, Talan, Nash and Brinkley Sutton. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Gilbert "Honk" Bond; grandson, Jeff Rosancki; son-in-law, LeRoy Rosancki; and brother, Ralph "Fuzz" Aydt. Funeral service were held 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Piopolis with Father George Mauck officiating. Burial will be at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, Piopolis. Visitation was from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Harre Funeral Home, McLeansboro. For those who wish, memorials may be made to Hamilton Memorial Hospital Foundation or McLeansboro Health Care and Rehab Center, McLeansboro, and will be accepted at Harre Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.
