Frank L. Zachman Sr., 88, of Dahlgren, died 11:31 p.m. Monday, Feb. 8, 2016, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon. He was born Aug. 27, 1927, in Los Angeles, the son of Theodore and Emma (Karcher) Zachman. He married Patsy Kelly on Oct. 11, 1952; she survives. He is survived by his wife, Patsy Zachman; daughter, Angela Wiggins and husband Doug of Dahlgren; son, Frank L. Zachman Jr. and wife Laura of Dahlgren; six grandchildren, Joshua Wiggins and wife Brianna, Anna Marie Wiggins and fiance Kyle Nau, Danielle Zachman, Alexandra Zachman, Frank L. Zachman III and Maverick Zachman; two great-grandchildren, Wyatt Wiggins and Wesley Wiggins; brother, Eddie Zachman and wife Lorene of Decatur; two sisters-in-law, Arlene Kelly of Linn Creek, Mo., and Elinor Iteen of Grand Rapids, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Mary Ann Zachman; three sisters, Betty Kennedy and two infant twin sisters at birth; four brothers-in-law; and one sister-in-law. Funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church with Father Slawomir Ptak conducting the funeral mass. Interment was at St. Johns Cemetery in Dahlgren. Visitation was held Friday, Feb. 12, at Gholson Funeral Home in Dahlgren with a rosary. He was the owner and operator of Zachman Fertilizer for over 40 years in Dahlgren. He enjoyed going to basketball, baseball and softball games. He was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Dahlgren. Gholson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
