Glenn V. Meschnark, 63, of McLeansboro, died 7:55 p.m. Thursday, March 12, 2015, at the V.A. Medical Center in Marion. He was born April 13, 1951, in San Berdino, Calif., the son of Raymond James and Colleen Elizabeth (McLaughlin) Meschnark. He married Gloria Wellen and she survives. He was a truck driver. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, a member of the American Legion Post and he attended Christian Chapel Church. In addition to his wife, he is survived by several children; brothers and sisters, Roger Kidd of North Carolina, Alan Buford of Las Vegas and Christina Schofield of Las Vegas; a niece, Ashley Meschnark; a great-nephew, Tristan Glenn Meschnark; and several grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter; and two brothers. Funeral service were held at noon March 16, at Christian Chapel Church near McLeansboro with the Rev. Allen Spangler officiating. Visitation was from 10 a.m. until the service time at the church. For those who wish, memorials may be given to the V.A. Medical Center or to the Disabled American Veterans and will be accepted at the Gholson Funeral Home. Gholson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
