Jack Elton Link, 89, of McLeansboro, died 7:15 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014, at V.A. Medical Center in Marion. He was born April 29, 1925, in Hamilton County, the son of Elton B. and Delta Brownlee. He married Peggy Viers and she survives. He was a retired farmer and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Link; sons, David Link and wife Deborrah of Macedonia and Mark Link and wife Lisa of McLeansboro; daughter-in-law, Sharon Gibbs Link of McLeansboro; four grandchildren, Dr. Chad Elton Link and wife Jamie of Evansville, Ind., Adam S. Link and fiance Ashley Leuellen of McLeansboro, Latricia Marie Link of McLeansboro and Levi Brent Link of McLeansboro; four great-grandchildren, Brenna David Link, James Dennis Link, Micheal Alan Link and Emily Nicole Link; and two sisters, Bonnie Sue Harrison of Marion and Anita Miller of Benton. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Dennis Link; brother, John Robert Link; and sister-in-law, Ruth Davis Link. Funeral service were held 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. Robert Sefried officiating. Interment was at Little Springs Cemetery in McLeansboro with graveside military rites by American Legion Post 106. Visitation was held from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at Gholson Funeral Home.
