Oscar John “Jack” Rubenacker, 77, of McLeansboro, died 6:55 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26, 2014, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind. He was a farmer and served in the U.S. Army in Korea. He was born on Nov. 3, 1936, in Champaign, the son of Oscar J. and Frances (Ewald) Rubenacker. He married Pearl J. Counsil on Jan. 1, 1960, in McLeansboro. Surviving are his wife Pearl J. Rubenacker of McLeansboro; one son, John Anthony “Tony” Rubenacker and wife Staci; two grandsons, Dustan Anthony and Dylan Aaron Rubenacker; two sisters, Doris Richardson, and Darlene Butler and husband Elmer all of Dahlgren; four brothers, Samuel Rubenacker and wife Judy of McLeansboro, Timothy Rubenacker of Broughton, and David Rubenacker and wife June and Gerald Rubenacker and wife Carolyn all of Belle Rive; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Phyllis Rapp. Visitation was held 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28, at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. Delbert Essen officiating. Graveside services followed at 2 p.m. at Concord Cemetery near McLeansboro. Memorials may be made to cancer research and will be accepted at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro. Harre Funeral Home of McLeansboro is in charge of all of the arrangements.
