Jane (Fagan) Holcomb, 73, formerly of Bellevue, Mich., passed away at Oaklawn Hospital in Marshall, Mich. on Monday, Dec. 22, 2014. She was born July 25, 1941, in Effingham, the daughter of the Rev. Walter Fagan and Daisy (Bolen) Fagan. Survivors include two daughters, Cindy Ballard and husband Vic of Bellevue, Mich., and Julie Tapscott and husband Dave of Elizabeth, Colo.; one brother, David Fagan and wife Evelyn of Dahlgren; two sisters, Carolyn Vaupel and husband Lowell of Carmi and Linda Coale and husband Vernon of Jonesboro, Ark.; a special nephew, Darrel Kiefer and wife Joann of Carmi; four grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Holcomb; her parents; and one sister, Elaine Hall. After graduating from McLeansboro High School in 1959, she enlisted in the United States Air Force where she served as a medic. She later served in the Air National Guard. A memorial for Jane will take place on June 19, 2015, at Fort Custer, Mich. at 10 a.m.
