Kenneth McGill, 88, of McLeansboro, passed away 2:29 a.m. Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 6, 2017, at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, April 7, 2017, at Harre Funeral Home with the Rev. Ken Cook officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in McLeansboro.
He was born Aug. 2, 1928, in Dale, the son of Oscar McGill and Lura (Mayberry) McGill. He married Myrna Maxine Gunter on Oct. 26, 1946, in Henderson, Ky.
He was a carpenter and member of the First General Baptist Church in McLeansboro. He loved to garden and bird hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Myrna McGill of McLeansboro; three sons, Kenneth Eugene McGill and wife Kenann of Bonham, Texas, Jim McGill and wife Debbie of Forgan, Okla., and Jerry McGill and wife Staci of Dahlgren; two daughters, Linda Coy and husband Jim of Dahlgren and Beverly Stewart and husband Joe of Broughton; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Dennis McGill and wife Linda of McLeansboro and Wayne McGill and wife Mary Lou of McLeansboro; and one sister, Carolyn Sturm and husband Tom of McLeansboro.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one great-grandchild; and one sister.
Harre Funeral Home, McLeansboro, is in charge of arrangements.
