Linda Jean Irvin, age 74, resident of McLeansboro, and formerly of Broughton, passed away 9:55 a.m. Saturday, June 7, 2014, at the Fountainview Nursing Center in Eldorado. She was born Sept. 22, 1939, in McLeansboro, the daughter of Gilbert Eugene and Lattie Edna (Barr) Irvin. She first married Joseph Glenn and later married George Obe Irvin who preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and a member of Dale Pentecost Church. Survivors include a son, Joel “Todd” Glenn of Illinois; a daughter, Valerie (Jeff) Brantley of Memphis, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Isaiah Glenn of McLeansboro, Brandy (Paul A. III) Lemeiux of Knoxville, Tenn., and Bethany Brantley of Memphis, Tenn. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, George Obe Irvin. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. Randall Ragan officiating. Burial will be at the IOOF Cemetery in McLeansboro. Visitation was held Monday at the funeral home.
