Madge Madison passed away peacefully at 2:30 a.m. Thursday, March 19, 2015, at Cumberland House Hospice in Crossville, Tenn., at the age of 90 years. Madge was born in Shawneetown to Roy and Protha Bennett Hise on July 29, 1924. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Sandy Harrington of Tierra Verde, Florida and Linda Ann Greer of Wood River. She was also preceded in death by her parents and brother Donald L. 'Rocky' Hise of Woodsfield, Ohio. She is survived by her son, Larry Madison of Crossville, Tenn., and five grandchildren, Michael Madison of Naples, Fla., Eric Arth and Tim Arth of Edwardsville, Bill Seabrook of Orlando, Fla., and Ryan Harrington of Tierra Verde, Fla. There are also nine great-grandchildren. Madge married Wayne Madison in December 1942. After the end of World War II, they raised their three children in Edwardsville. When they divorced in 1969, Madge moved to Windermere, Fla., and was hired by Walt Disney World which was under construction near Orlando. During her 20-year career as purchasing department file clerk, Madge lived in Winter Garden and Leesburg, Fla. After retirement from Disney, Madge lived in Bethalto, where she resided in Villa Rose, and in Crossville, Tenn. Visitation will be at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in McLeansboro on Saturday, March 28, 2015, at 9 a.m. with burial service at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Shaun Vineyard officiating. In place of flowers, please support cancer research and hospice. Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro is in charge of the arrangements.
