Martha K. Aydt, 66, of Dahlgren, passed away at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, 2014, at her home. She was born Dec. 21, 1947, in Bloomington, the daughter of Oswald and Mary (Hensley) Sights. She married Larry P. Aydt on Oct. 7, 1967, and he survives. She was a homemaker and an avid Chicago Cubs fan. She was a member of St. John Neopomucene Catholic Church in Dahlgren. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Kenneth Aydt and wife Lori of Mt. Vernon an Dennis Aydt of Dahlgren; and one grandson, Levi Aydt of the U.S. Air Force, stationed in Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Eldon Turrentine. Services were held 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Catholic Church in Dahlgren. Deacon Archie Bowers conducted the funeral mass. Interment was at St. Johns Cemetery in Dahlgren. Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Gholson Funeral Home in Dahlgren. A rosary service was held at 7 p.m. Gholson Funeral Home of Dahlgren is in charge of arrangements.
