Mary Ellen Hish, age 103, of Harrisburg, passed away 4:50 a.m. Friday, May 2, 2014, at Harrisburg Medical Center. Mary was born Friday, April 7, 1911, in Gallatin County, to the late Otto and Nancy (Dillard) Kleiner. She married John F. Hish on May 5, 1930; he preceded her in death July 8, 1985. Mary worked as a self-employed seamstress and was a member of the Christian church in Dale. Mary is survived by her daughter, Helen Baker of Harrisburg; half brother Arthur Kleiner of Salem, Wis.; daughter-in-law, Louise Hish of Dale; five grandchildren, Mary Shepherd of Champmanville, W.V., Jeanne Underwood of Marion, Greg Baker and wife Michelle of Harrisburg, Jeff Baker and wife Danielle of Harrisburg and Julie Brown and husband Michael of Dale; 10 great-grandchildren, Andrea McCune and husband John of West Virginia, Josh Shepherd of West Virginia, Jennifer Underwood of Marion, Cody Underwood and wife Anntoinette of Harrisburg, Nichole Storms and husband Brad of Harrisburg, Courtney Johnston and husband Daniel of Chandler, Ind., Boyd Baker and Ethan Baker of Harrisburg; and Bryanna and Kaitlyn Martin of Dale; nine great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers and sisters, Lawrence, Bill, Mildred, John, Helen and Kathryn; a son, John L. Hish; a son-in-law, Don Baker; and grandson-in-law, Terry Shepherd. Services for Mary were held 2 p.m. May 4, at Reed Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Keith Ital officiating. Burial was at St. Joseph Cemetery in Ridgeway.
