Melva June Loveridge, 81, of Murray, Ky., passed away 2:18 p.m. Friday, Dec. 22, 2017, at Murray-Calloway County Hospital in Murray, Ky.
Visitation was held 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2017, at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
Funeral service was held 12 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 26, at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro. Burial was at Digby Cemetery in Dale.
She was born Aug. 25, 1936, in Dale, the daughter of George Edward Tucker and Grace Ellen (Wheeler) Tucker. She married Jack Dale Loveridge on Feb. 2, 1955, in Dale; he passed away Sept. 11, 2009.
She was a retired secretary for Murray State University and a member of 1st United Methodist Church in Murray, Ky. Melva was a quilter at the Methodist church.
She is survived by one daughter, Jackie Diane Logsdon and husband Jack of St. Lake City, Utah; one son, Michael Dale Loveridge and wife Teresa of Hardin, Ky.; four grandchildren, Christopher Tucker and wife Mary of Las Vegas, Matthew Logsdon and wife Liliana of Orlando, Fla., Michelle Jarrett and husband Doug of Cordova, Tenn., and Melissa Mathis and husband Josh of Buchanan, Tenn.; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Elva Walker and husband Dan of Murray, Ky., and Diane Walke of Evansville, Ind.; and one sister-in-law, Rosalee Tucker of Bethalto.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack; and one brother, Don.
Harre Funeral Home, McLeansboro, is in charge of arrangements.
