Mildred (Irvin) McGill, 91, of McLeansboro, died Sunday, Nov. 30, 2014, at her residence. She was born Dec. 11, 1922, in Broughton, the daughter of Lee Irvin and Flossie (Austin) Irvin. She married Irby Idmon McGill. He passed away Jan. 13 2000. She is survived by a son, Delbert McGill of McLeansboro; a daughter, Charlotte Louise Polinski of Eldorado; six grandchildren, Carrie Nelson, Jolene McGill, Justin McGill, Julia Stokes, Charles Jones and Keith Jones; 13 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Dale Pentecost Church of Dale. She was a Sunday school teacher, loved to cook, quilt and sew. Family and church were her life. Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Dale Pentecost Church in Dale with Pastor Mike Glenn, Brother Chris Clendenin and the Rev. Randall Ragan officiating. Burial will follow at Hickory Hill Cemetery in Walpole. Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, at Harre Funeral in McLeansboro. Memorials may be made to Dale Pentcost Church and will be accepted at the church or Harre Funeral hOme, McLeansboro. Harre Funeral Home, McLeansboro, is in charge of all arrangements.
