Paul G. Dye, 90, of McLeansboro, passed away at 1:05 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at the Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro. He was born July 13, 1925, in Hamilton County, the son of Leonard G. and Bessie Darnell Dye. He was married to Ruth N. Poynor; she preceded him in death. He is survived by daughter, Pamela B. (husband Andy) Baker of McLeansboro; two granddaughters, Michelle Page and Gina Miller; four great-grandchildren, Anthony Page, Daven Thomas, Zachary Page and Madison Mattingly; and one great-great-grandchild, Oliver Thomas. He was preceded in death his parents, wife and one son, Michael Dye. Funeral service were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 17, at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with Brother Willie Huffine officiating. Burial was at Antioch Cemetery near Macedonia with graveside military rites by American Legion Post 106 of McLeansboro. Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, April 16, at the Gholson Funeral Home. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War 2 and a member of the Hamilton County Farm Bureau, the VFW Post, American Legion Post and Little Springs Baptist Church. He was a retired farmer and worked as a custodian at the former Dale Grade School and the former Flannigan School. Gholson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
