Ralph “Bud” Erwin, 69, of Dahlgren, died 5:58 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2014, in Dahlgren. Ralph was born Nov. 7, 1944, in Dahlgren, the son of James Rilley and Fern Louise (Klinker) Erwin. Survivors include two sons, Richard Erwin and wife Kathy of McLeansboro, and James Erwin and wife Phyllis of Dahlgren; two daughters, Carol Martin and husband Eugene of Mt. Vernon and Misty Woods and husband James of Alexandria, Ky.; a brother, Paul Erwin of McLeansboro; a sister; Sandra Wayer and husband Raymond of Mt. Vernon; a sister-in-law, Virginia Erwin of Dale; nine grandchildren, Jerrett, Josh, Jamie and Jeff Erwin, Maranda Kilmurray, Tadd Burris, Makayla Martin, Taylor Woods and Halie Woods; seven great-grandchildren, Lathan Erwin, Patrick, Treavor, Willow, and Matthew and Savannah Brayden Kilmurray. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Carl Erwin; and a sister-in-law, Nancy Erwin. He was a farmer. He attended Middle Creek Baptist Church. He loved spending time with friends at the Senior Citizens Center and he retired from Airtex Corp. in Fairfield. Funeral services were held Nov. 6, at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. Robert Sefried officiating. Burial was at Richardson Hill Cemetery, Dahlgren. Visitation was Friday, Nov. 7, 2014, at the Harre Funeral in McLeansboro. Harre Funeral Home of McLeansboro is in charge of all the arrangements.
