Rebecca “Becky” Dean Carter Meece, 63, died 8:45 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28, 2014, at her residence in Attica, Mich. She was born Aug. 24, 1951, in Eldorado to Rex Dean Carter and Lucille (Lohnes) Carter. She married Allan Meece and he survives in Attica, Mich. Rebecca was a member of the Second Baptist Church and loved going fishing, puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren. She worked in tool and die and was retired from employment at General Motors. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Meece is survived by a son, Chad Meece; a daughter, Angie Williams; two granddaughters, Courtney Smith and Peyton Williams; a grandson, Hunter Smith; a brother, Rex Carter and wife Kim of Walpole; two sisters, Shirley Bau and husband David of Enfield and Alta Pearl Charron; three sisters-in-law Jeanine Hunter, Cindy Jones and Cherri Overlin; several aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces; and special aunt and uncle, Teoria and Curtis Varney of McLeansboro. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents, Russell and Ermal Clevenger and Dallas and Lillian Lohnes. Visitation was held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, 2014, at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro Funeral followed at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, 2014, at Harre Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Fields officiating. Burial was at Hopewell Cemetery in McLeansboro.
