Roy Thomas “Pete” Crider, 63, of Eldorado, died 7:10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, 2015, at his home. He was born Oct. 29, 1952, in Pekin, the son of Thomas H. Crider and Dorothy (Donaldson) Crider. He married Dorothy Moore; she survives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Troy Crider and wife Martha of Eldorado, Roy Thomas Mathews of Lecanto, Fla. and James Kenneth Mathews of Elizabethtown; one step-son, Randy Moore of Toledo, Ohio; two daughters, Crystal Berkel and husband Brian of Sandoval and Dorothy Mae Mathews of Eldorado; one step-daughter, Victoria Lynn George of Florida; one step-mother, Betty Crider of McLeansboro; one brother, Thomas Crider of Dahlgren; three step-brothers, Donald Dean Harris of Eldorado, Douglas Hudson of Galatia and Raymond Hudson of McLeansboro; two sisters, Wanda Caldwell of Benton and Brenda Tarrence of Indiana; three step-sisters, Kim Russell of Walpole, Geri Renee Hudson of McLeansboro and Bonnie Gail Harris of Harrisburg; several grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents and a step-brother, Brian K. Harris. He worked as a general laborer. Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Reverend Fred Wilson officiating. The visitation was held 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at Gholson Funeral Home. Burial was at Smith Cemetery near Dale. Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro is in charge of all of the arrangements.
