Roy V. Foley, 89, of McLeansboro, died 4:05 a.m. Thursday, May 26, 2016, at Hamilton Memorial Nursing Center, McLeansboro.
He was born May 16, 1927, in Enfield, the son of William and Katherine (Fleck) Foley. He married Mary Elizabeth Tolley on July 13, 1953, in Enfield; she preceded him in death.
He is survived by a daughter, Royla Howe and husband H. Michael of McLeansboro; a granddaughter, Amanda Owen and husband Lucas of McLeansboro; and two great-granddaughters, Savannah and Lily Owen.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers, two sisters and a niece.
Roy was a dispatcher employed by the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office. He attended Turning Point Church of God. He loved playing piano. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Korea.
Private family graveside services were held 1 p.m. Saturday, May 28, 2016, at IOOF Cemetery with Pastor Leo Hall officiating. Graveside military rites were accorded by American Legion Post 106 and the military honor team of Marion.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Roy's honor to the Hamilton Memorial Nursing Center, McLeansboro, and will be accepted at Harre Funeral home or by his family.
Harre Funeral Home, McLeansboro, is in charge of all arrangements.
