Vernon Lavone Keen, 90, of Macedonia, died 2:40 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, 2015, at Hamilton Memorial Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in McLeansboro. She was born July 2, 1925, in Franklin County, the daughter of George Bishop and Lillie (Tippi) Bishop. She married George “Jack” Keen; he preceded her in death. She is survived by a son, Brad Keen and wife Paula of Cambria; and two daughters, Regenia Kovach and husband Glenn of Benton and Jackie Fletcher and husband Terri of Ewing; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers and two sisters. She was a homemaker. Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. Keith Neal officiating. The visitation was held 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 24, at Gholson Funeral Home. Burial was at Liberty Cemetery near Macedonia. Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro is in charge of all of the arrangements.
